How Color Has Changed My Life

did you ever find yourself drawn to a certain colour? Like no matter how much you try you always end up buying clothes with your favourite colour or a print? or you just feel drawn towards that new notebook you’ve seen even if you don’t need it. that’s my friend power of colour.

If you were to ask one of my early childhood friends about me, they would tell you I was always creative. Only thing is, I wasn’t aware of it until recently. I would always bring back colourful souvenirs from my travels or spend hours in a local bookstore perusing through books, stationery and gift shop. Just looking at colourful bits and beautiful patterns made me so happy. It was then that I’ve realised that colours and how I felt was related.

There are many colour theories and explorations on how it affects our lives and even decision making. I like to think that the best description could be found within us - listening to how we feel when looking at certain shades or when we can’t take our eyes of certain art pieces.

Since I’ve discovered its therapeutic influence over my life, I have surrounded myself with colours and patterns that evoke happiness, curiosity and calm. I’ve become very intentional with everything I buy, even something as small as a coffee cup and you would be surprised to see how even that could affects your day. I love art and could spend days wondering around museums when I travel, but also on a day-to-day life there is always something colourful available that matches or uplifts my mood.

surround yourself with colours that would make you feel as if you were in your favourite art store - and expect miracles!
